The National Resource Center on LGBT Aging (lgbtagingcenter.org) is the country’s first and only technical assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older people. A project of SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders), in partnership with 10 aging and LGBT organizations nationwide, the Resource Center provides training and multimedia resources to aging services providers, LGBT organizations and LGBT older people.

“LGBT older adults have several unique health care, legal and financial details to take into account when planning for retirement and beyond. By providing critical information and tools for LGBT elders and the organizations that care for them, the Resource Center will ensure that they can age with the dignity and respect they deserve,” said Hilary Meyer, Director of the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging.

Central to the Resource Center is its web site, which continues to grow as a highly interactive, multimedia site that will equip LGBT older adults and their loved ones with information on legal issues, caregiving, Social Security and Medicaid, and more. The latest additions to the site are a comprehensive collection of resources on HIV and aging, and a wider selection of informative articles in Spanish.
