When Trish McCarty lost her parents, the last thing on her mind was fixing up their home and finding a buyer. But she had to put aside her grief to take care of all these necessities.
From this experience came the idea for Estate Home Services, which provides services for families preparing to sell the home of a loved one that has either passed away or is moving into a nursing home or assisted living facility.
“Many people don’t know what to do or don’t live in the same state,” said McCarty. “I’ve gone through this twice, and I understand what other families are going through. It’s not an easy process.”
McCarty, who has worked in management for 30 years, runs Estate Home Services with assistance from her husband, who is in the contracting business. Services include emptying the house of personal items and furnishings, finding appraisers, realtors, moving companies, repairing the home, setting up lawn, pool and property maintenance while the home is on the market.
“Sometimes family members live in another state and just need us to check on the property and make sure everything is secure,” said McCarty. “I can manage as much or as little as they want and facilitate whatever they need to accomplish done.”
